A Holistic Look at Chocolate (Just in time for Valentine’s Day)

For the love of chocolate.
There is a new study out that has again found that chocolate can help prevent strokes. I am grateful that these studies are being undertaken. However, I believe that they are misguided because they initiate big headlines like “Chocolate is good for you”, and they come just in time for “Valentine’s Day”. I also believe that these news articles misrepresent the facts a bit so that they can sell their advertising.
Remember that there are thousands of kinds of chocolate: It comes in cakes, frosting, bars, squares, drinks, drops, as coatings, in ice cream. It also comes as dark, white, milk and semi-sweet. Some of these forms are loaded with sugar and fat.
